Vincent Campbell, PhD, Disability and Health Branch, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 4770 Buford Highway, F-35, Atlanta, GA 30341-3724, 770 488 7684, vbc6@cdc.gov

This presentation will include an overview of data instruments for the 13 objectives in chapter 6. In addition to the 13 objectives, Healthy People 2010 contains 111 objectives in 20 of the 27 other focus areas in which health disparities between people with and without disability are targeted to be eliminated. Each of these objectives will need to be associated with a data collection mechanism that is capable of identifying people with disability and providing information relative to the population without disability. Those data collection vehicles that do not include a mechanism for identifying people with disability will need to have such.

Learning Objectives: The participant will recognize the need for people with disabilities to be distinguishable as a subpopulation for purposes of eliminating health disparities relative to people without disabilities.
