Prenatal care, pregnancy & oral health, tooth formation, eruption & teething, nutritive/non-nutritive sucking

It is usually safe to receive dental treatment at anytime during pregnancy. However, it is wise to schedule needed non-emergency treatment for the second trimester. This presentation will include oral health do’s and don’ts for pregnant women with some relevant reasons.

Learning Objectives: Participants will be able to: 1. Counsel a mother to be and new mother about her own oral health in relation to her unborn baby’s development. 2. Describe how to ensure good oral health for her fetus and newborn baby.
