Learning Objectives: At the conclusion of the Institute, the participant (learner) will… 1.understand how writing for PDAs differs from writing for the peer reviewed literature or for the government (e.g., reports) and how the design of content makes a difference in its usabilty 2. demonstrate that he or she can read unusable content and can rewrite that content for reuse 3. be able to select from among the numerous software tools the ones that can be used to author new content or convert existing content to a format that can be used on a PDA 4. be able to create and convert professional/public health content for use on PDAs and for subsequent distribution to colleagues 5. be able to take content from the desktop (Word, Excel, PowerPoint documents) and from databases and the Web, and use the content to enhance access to learning, improve productivity, and provide access to reference content, news and quick information
