| Learning Objectives: Upon completion of this Institute, participants will be able to:
1. Describe the LGBT populations and their particular health care needs;
2. Recognize the diversity within the LGBT populations;
3. Identify barriers that LGBT people face when accessing healthcare services;
4. Ascertain what the health care delivery needs are for LGBT individuals;
5. Determine what health care providers need to know in order to better serve LGBT people;
6. Identify special skills and abilities essential to culturally-competent healthcare delivery for LGBT consumers; and
7. Discuss the use of the Healthy People 2010 Companion document for LGBT people. |
