Globalizing Inequality: International Trade Agreements and the Threat to National Health Systems

The General Agreement on Trade and Services (GATS), now being negotiated, would facilitate the incursion of the private health insurance industry into public national health care systems outside of the U.S., in developed as well as developing nations. Speakers will address the progress of this agreement, international efforts to resist it, and the implications for equitable and universal health care internationally.
