| Collaboration between HIV and STD programs is essential. The epidemiologic synergy between HIV infection and other STDs is well documented. The linkages between HIV and other STDs go beyond the biomedical, and impact patient care as well as public health policy. This workshop will examine the state of HIV and STD program integration in the US, highlight case studies where successful integration and collaboration have taken place, and will examine barriers to integration and collaboration. Community involvement in HIV and STD prevention will be examined, and strategies to enhance involvement will be addressed. Finally, the role that sexual health plays in both HIV and STD prevention will be examined, and strategies to engage communities in sexual health dialogue will be outlined. Resources focusing on programmatic integration strategies will be highlighted. | ||||
