Impact of Managed Care on Medicaid and SCHIP Expansions

The purpose of this session is to review policies related to federally supported health care coverage for uninsured low income families, with a particular focus on managed care and its implications for provision of care for children and families. The session will also examine possible policy expansions to extend such coverage to the parents of already eligible children.

Learning Objectives: To identify the current and proposed policy changes impacting provision of coverage to low income parents of SCHIP eligible children. To analyze the implications of managed care on new coverage proposals.
