The Politics, Legality and Impact of the New "Global Gag Rule"

The session will explore the politics, legality and impact of the newly re-enacted global gag rule -- a series of restrictions on the abortion-related activity of NGOs receiving USAID-funded international population assistance. The "gag rule" jeopardizes public health, free sspeech and the global leadership of the US in the area of international family planning and reproductive health.
