| Issues surrounding women’s health in developing countries have captured the hearts and minds of all of us around the world – helped in part by the media attention and progress made in ground-breaking international meetings on women’s health and women’s rights in Cairo and Beijing in the 1900’s. Community and national leaders from three key regions of the world: the Africa – Nigeria, China, and Latin America will present their challenges, progress and lessons learned in addressing women’s and girl’s health issues in their countries. Reflection on these inspirational stories and application of key lessons learned to our own diverse cultural communities in the U.S. will follow. This session is intended to inspire even the faint hearted as together we honestly look at the compelling challenges to women’s health and survival posed by tradition, religion, and lack of education around the world. Special emphasis will be made on the importance of investing in the next generation of women. | ||||
