American Indian, Alaska Native and Native Hawaiian Caucus

Submit Abstract

The American Indian, Alaska Native and Native Hawaiian Caucus invites abstracts for papers that address the theme of the 2002 American Public Health Association (APHA) Annual Meeting, "Putting the Public Back Into Public Health" and general topics addressing AI/AN/NH populations. The Caucus also invites papers that specifically address the following:
  • Caregiving
  • Collaborative/Partnership Projects
  • Community Health Workers
  • Health Communications in Native Communities
  • Maternal and Child Health Issues
  • Mental Health Issues
  • Native Culture: The Positive Impact on Public Health (humor, spirituality, pride etc
  • Native Elder populations
  • Other
  • Self-determination and Community Empowerment
All abstracts must meet the deadline established by APHA and follow the general APHA guidelines for submission. Submissions that do not comply will be returned to sender without review. The Caucus welcomes abstracts from students.

A discussion session by several (no more than five) speakers on a general topic may be coordinated by a single applicant. Each speaker for the discussion session must submit an abstract on his or her individual topic, following the APHA web site's guidelines. Use the "Comments to Organizer" box to convey your request as well as listing the abstract ID numbers for each speaker. Follow up with an email to the Program Planner with a session overview.
