Black Caucus of Health Workers

Submit Abstract

The caucus invites abstracts for poster, roundtable, and oral presentations that address the theme of the 130th (2002) Annual Meeting: Putting the Public Back Into Public Health. The caucus is particularly interested in receiving abstracts in the following areas:
  • Business Meeting: Board Development and Retention
  • Business Meeting: Expanding Membership
  • Business Meeting: Resource Development
  • Communicating the Status of the Public's Health: Lessons Learned From The Field
  • Community Based Participatory Research Methods
  • Environmental Hazards and The Public's Health
  • Organ Donation and Transplantation: Is this a Public Health Issue?
  • Public Health: Curriculum Needs for the Current and Future Public Health Professional
  • Sampling the Public: Identifying and Understanding the Concerns of the Public's Health
  • The Influence of Stress On the Health of the African American Family
  • The Public's Public Health Infrastructure: Meeting the Challenges of Today and Tomorrow
  • The Role of External Validity in Public Health Promotion and Prevention
The caucus especially encourages students, particularly international students, new investigators, and individuals with international research experience to submit abstracts. The caucus will seek abstracts from students, health, international health, and mental health professionals interested in sharing information from their unpublished papers. The caucus will organize sessions on some of the above topics and is also interested in related topics, i.e., child prostitution, violence against women and children, obesity, and reproductive health. Suggestions for session speakers are also welcome.
