The Massachusetts Medicaid Behavioral Health Program celebrates its tenth year in 2002 as the longest running statewide public behavioral health program in the country. This presentation summarizes its history, reviews evaluations of it (references to be handed out), and draws lessons for other programs.

At the conclusion of this session, attendees will be able to
• Understand the ten year history of the Massachusetts Medicaid Behavioral Health Program.
• Be familiar with key evaluations of the program.
• Be able to apply this experience to their own state Medicaid or managed care programs.
