This presentation will explore some of the controversial issues in the headlines about whether and how women are using violence in intimate relationships. The presentation will cover key issues, what is known vs. issues needing more attention, why it is urgent to be addressing these issues, and work being done to begin dialogue on these issues. The presentation will particularly focus on topics relevant to public health and health care settings and share perspectives, experiences, and materials from the Battered Women's Movement.

Learning Objectives:

• Participants will learn about the complexities of addressing issues of women's use of force in intimate relationships.
• Participations will learn some of the strategies being used by the Battered Women's Movement in relation to women using force.
