Guidance from a professional association to its members on HIPAA Privacy rules

This session will discuss the actions that the American Psychological Association(APA) is taking to assist its practitioner members with the new requirements for HIPAA compliance, particularly with respect to the privacy rules promulgated in April 2001. Special focus will be given to the unique mental health and substance abuse issues confronting the psychologist members of the APA.
