RESULTS: Fourteen articles from four countries were reviewed. Alcohol involvement was noted for 4-30 % of those injured in Malaysia, 15-29 % in the Philippines, 2-33 % in Singapore and 24-56 % in Thailand. The diagnosis of alcohol involvement varied from 3-29 percent for all victims of trauma to 18 to 56 percent for motor vehicle fatalities. The majority of victims were young males.
