In this session, five speakers will discuss current issues pertaining to war and public health, including such topics as the aftermath of the war in Afghanistan, civil wars in Africa and elsewhere, current status of the international arms trade, the impact of war on civilian populations and on the environment, and approaches to controlling landmines and biological, chemical, and nuclear weapons.
