TransHealth: Transgender/Transsexual Health Activists Discuss the Future

Jodi Sperber, MSW, MPH is a consultant at John Snow, Inc. (JSI) in Boston, Massachusetts. She has conducted community-based research with LGBT populations including studies on access to health care services for transgender individuals in the greater Boston area, an evaluation of the Gay and Lesbian Youth Support (GLYS) training, a needs assessment of LGBT elders in Greater Boston, and a study of the health and social service needs of the LGBT community in Santa Clara County, California. She currently works on a variety of projects including the GLBT Health Access Project, GLYS, and planning the transgender track of the upcoming LGBTI Health Summit In Boulder, CO. She has also been involved in advocating for greater inclusion of LGBT indicators on survey instruments on a state, local, and national level. She is interested in access to health care and social services, with a particular focus on LGBT individuals. Before coming to JSI, Jodi worked at JRI Health in Boston, doing program planning and counseling for LGBT adolescents.
