University of Missouri Columbia, Sinclair School of Nursing and the Missouri Department of Health and Senior services, Bureau of Communicable Disease, are collaborating in a project that will assess tuberculosis knowledge and practice of Missouri Public Health Nurses. PHNs are the major health care providers of TB care in Missouri Communities. This project is particularly important in that we will have evidence of educational need for nurses in TB control. A survey instrument, based on the empirical literature, has been developed and pretested. Data collection is currently in progress and results will be available by March, 2002.
