To assess the impact of the East Side Village Health Worker Partnership on the neighborhoods within the intervention area, a survey was administered at baseline and in Year 5 of the project. At baseline, the survey was administered to a random sample of 700 women who care for children at least 5 hours a week and in Year 5 of the project, 367 of these original 700 respondents were re-interviewed. Questions on the survey asked about the respondents' perception of neighborhood protective factors, such as sense of community, neighborhood influence, neighborhood participation and informal social control, as well as neighborhood stressors such as safety concerns, financial concerns, poor schools, etc. This presentation will present preliminary results from the longitudinal analysis of this data and the results will be discussed in relationship to the implications for community health worker interventions.
