In order to reach at-risk AAPI populations, HIV/AIDS prevention measures should be integrated into primary health care. Health care providers are perhaps the first and only point of contact for many AAPI patients for health education and early intervention services. During this presentation, suggested interventions based on findings from a needs assessment survey of primary care providers serving Asian American and Pacific Islanders conducted by AAPCHO in 2000 will be presented. Results include medical providers' interest and concerns of improving their clinical and communication skills and knowledge of HIV/AIDS-related issues and services to better serve their patients.
