Individuals with mobility limitations often experience changes in participating in major life activities as a result of their physical limitations and the barriers encountered in their environment. A three-year project funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Division of Disability and Health developed a dynamic measurement system that assesses participation and environmental factors. This dynamic measurement system consists of two surveys: the Participation Survey (PARTS) and the Facilitators and Barriers Survey (FABS). A purposive sample of over 600 individuals with mobility limitations completed the surveys. This poster will specifically report results related to the data analyzed in the following areas: participation in intimacy, use of public versus private transportation, use of specific mobility devices and choice satisfaction and importance of participation in different life activities. Paper and electronic copies of the surveys, instructions on how they should be administrated and data analysis techniques will be made available at the poster session.
