Louis Rowitz, PhD, UIC School of Public Health, University of Illinois-Chicago, Mid-America Public Health Leadership Institute, 2121 W. Taylor Street, Chicago, IL 60612, 312-996-9659, lrowitz@uic.edu

The state, regional and national leadership Institute members of the National Public Health Leadership Development Network are dedicated to meeting the local grassroots needs by developing and enhancing individual and organizational leadership and management for improving and promoting the health of communities. They provide a unique learning experience for a broad array of public health professionals and others who are integral to the development of healthy communities. Through the development of leadership skills and shared vision, the institutes/programs facilitate creative, integrated, collaborative approaches to the achievement of the Public Health Core Functions and the Essential Public Health Services. As a part of the Leadership Institute curriculum, each scholar completes a personal or team project and/or case study in their community or home agency. At this session, a panel of award winning Leadership Institute scholars will present selected projects in a poster format that have made an impact in their community and/or agency. Come help us honor outstanding leadership projects/case studies with an interactive alumni poster session. This session is a valuable way to learn about different trends in the development of public health leadership and the impact of the leadership project/case studies on the public health infrastructure.
