A policy perspective on using multi-racial/ethnic categories deployed in the Year 2000 census

This presentation will provide a broad policy perspective on how public health agencies, such as the Department of Health and Human Services, are using -- or are planning to use -- the new multi-racial/ethnic data from the 2000 Census to monitor social inequalities in health. Related activities in public health agencies, as well as development of a Handbook on Measuring Disparities in Health, will be discussed.
