Learning Objectives:
At the conclusion of the session, the participant (learner) in this session will be able to- i.) recognize that survival analysis is a popular data analysis approach for certain kinds of epidemiologic and other data.
- ii.) estimate and interpret survivor and/or hazard function from survival data.
- iii.) assess the relationship of explanatory variables to survival time, in this case different treatment regimens administered in pediatric AIDS cases.
- iv.) interpret Kaplan-Meier (KM) probabilities of survival, given survival time and failure status information on a sample of subjects.
- v.) discuss the impact diverse treatment regimens (mono, double, triple and quadruple therapy) have had on the survival of children with AIDS in Mexico.
