"Waking the Mama Bear Within - using learning tasks to teach

Short description: The mission of Lamaze International focuses on birth education and advocacy. Pregnancy and birth may be the first time that a woman deals with the medical system on her own behalf and that of her unborn baby. The disparity in services and outcomes is well documented. However this dynamic time is ideal "to wake the Mama Bear within" to develop advocacy skills for normal, >>healthy and fulfilling birth, breastfeeding and early parenting experiences. The CHW is an ideal mentor in this "awakening."
