Assessing Disparities in Health Status and Health Care for Immigrants and Refugees in the United States
The purpose of this session is to present findings on the physical and mental health of immigrants and refugees that add to our current knowledge of specific population groups in the U.S. or internationally.
Learning Objectives: At the conclusion of the session, the participant will be able to: 1) Identify barriers to health care access among immigrants and refugees. 2) Describe health disparities between foreign-born populations and US-born populations. 3) Evaluate limitations of data about health status and priorities for various immigrant communities.
