The 2000 report, "Oral Health in America, a Report of the Surgeon General", has sparked interest in addressing the “silent epidemic” of oral diseases in the U.S. A "National Oral Health Call to Action" called for by the Surgeon General’s report will stimulate and energize stakeholders and provide direction and guidance in focusing efforts for positive change. The process used in developing the Call to Action and implications for its effective implementation will be discussed. | |||
