Learning Objectives: After you attend this session on peer reviewing you will be able to: 1. Articulate the editorial process at the American Journal of Public Health—both the current vision and future directions. 2. Describe the newly instituted web-based tracking system developed to assure timely reviews of submitted papers. 3. Know the do’s and don’ts of peer reviewing and how to strengthen the published work. 4. Identify various journal publishing formats. 5. Recognize the importance of ensuring that those with valued expertise and experience in both public health practice and public health research contribute to the review of the submitted work. 6. Understand more about the review process, content, and themes of AJPH.
