The Black Caucus of Health Workers (BCHW) invites the submission of abstracts for poster, roundtable, and oral presentations at the American Public Health Association 131st Annual Meeting & Exposition. The conference will be held in San Francisco, CA from November 15-19, 2003 and will feature as a theme: "Behavior, Lifestyle and Social Determinants of Health." This Call for Abstracts for the scientific sessions requests papers in the following topic areas:
- Asset-based Approaches to Community Health
- Building the Village --- Intergenerational Activities for Health Promotion
- Effective Community Partnerships as Catalysts for Disease Prevention
- Important Lifestyle Changes that Could Save Your Life
- Program / Project Sustainability in Underserved Neighborhoods
- Social Marketing Strategies and Health Promotion
- The Faith Community's Role in Promoting Better Health
- The Role of Health Workers and Community Education Strategies
- The Science of Studying Disease in Communities of Color
- Violence as a Public Health Dilemma
The Black Caucus of Health Workers encourages students, new investigators, and individuals with national and international research experience to submit abstracts. BCHW will seek abstracts from individuals who are interested in sharing information from their UNPUBLISHED work and are interested in addressing factors and policies that contribute to the nation's growing health disparities. Suggestions for speaker sessions are also welcome. The Deadline for Submission of Abstracts: February 10, 2003
