Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Caucus of Public Health Workers	Submit Abstract
The LGBT Caucus of Public Health Workers is soliciting abstracts for the 131st APHA Annual Meeting in San Francisco, CA, November 15-19, 2003. Submissions are encouraged for work with a focus on LGBT health and the conference theme, "Behavior, Lifestyle, and Social Determinants of Health," as well as other topics relevant to LGBT health. The following list of topics is not intended to be exhaustive; rather, it will suggest some of the myriad issues of interest to the Caucus: Community Organizing and Coalition Building for LGBT Health Designing Health Promotion/Disease Prevention Programs for LGBT Adolescent Health Funding LGBT Research and Programming Gay and Bisexual Men's Health Health Of LGBT Incarcerated or Recently Released Individuals Hepatitis prevention and care in LGBT communities HIV/AIDS Health Care Service Needs of LGBT Individuals HIV/AIDS Prevention in LGBT Communities Homelessness and LGBT people Lesbian and Bisexual Women's Health LGBT Access to Healthcare service and prevention programs LGBT Curricula In The Schools LGBT Elders Research LGBT Lives Within Communities of Faith LGBT Youth Research Mental health in LGBT communities Serving Cultural and Linguistic Minorities in LGBT Communities STD Prevention in LGBT Communities STD Prevention in LGBT Communities Substance Use and Substance Use Treatment Issues Among LGBT individuals Tobacco Prevention Concerns of LGBT Communities Transgender Health Violence in the home and community The Caucus strongly encourages submission of abstracts that focus attention, to the extent feasible, on the role of age, gender, race, and ethnicity. The Caucus is very interested in student research efforts, and invites students to submit proposals for consideration at all levels of presentation (poster, oral, or roundtable). A discussion session by several (no more than five) speakers on a general topic may be coordinated by a single applicant. The coordinator must submit an abstract for the discussion session, following the guidelines listed on the APHA web site. Each speaker for the discussion session must also submit an abstract on his or her individual topic, following the APHA web site's guidelines.
