Learning Objectives:

• At the end of this session the participant will be able to:
• 1) Describe the Philadelphia Consortium on Psychiatric Disabilities and approach to conducting collaborative community-based research
• 2) Articulate the factors racial disparities in the treatment of schizophrenia and depression and the proposed intervention model to reduce disparities
• 3) Discuss the research design being used to assess the effectiveness of the intervention
