The Turning Point’s Leadership Development National Excellence Collaborative (TPLDNEC) has available its “product package” of tools and models that can be used in leadership training programs and within state and local health departments to educate participants on Collaborative Leadership. Funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation in 2000, the TPLDNEC is a multi-state collaborative whose mission is to “increase collaborative leadership capacity across sectors and at all levels.”

This package includes reading materials, training curricula, a video series, and a self-assessment tool. In this session, the National Collaborative Leadership curriculum will be highlighted. This curriculum, created by six partnering organizations and an education design specialist, was created to enhance collaborative leadership skill building in existing training programs, academic coursework, and organizational development programs. It delves into critical issues of Collaborative Leadership including: Developing trust and creating safety; taking perspective and seeing commonalities; self-reflection; and developing people/mentoring/coaching, and power and control.
