In A Town Meeting format CHWs from various regions of the United States will break out into groups by geographic regions (of the country). They will share experiences organizing CHWs locally, statewide and regionally. They will explore commonalities in various issues that CHWs face daily including : career development, training opportunities, advocacy, job advancement, and appropriate CHW supervision. The benefits of organizing CHWs regionally will be identified. They will also try to identify funding opportunities that may support a regional conference or activities in each of the regions identified. These conferences or activities will be designed to meet the particular needs of each region with a focus on bringing together and strengthening the voices of CHWs. Massachusetts will share its experiences developing, implementing and evaluating their particular strategies. Further, we will share our experiences with sustainability, identifying potential funders, developing proposals in a collaborative manner, and ultimately securing funding for regional and statewide benefits for CHWs. Round table discussions will require active participation and will be facilitated by CHW leaders representing the various regions.
