The discussant will reflect on similarities and differences in the diverse approaches presented to teaching activism in public health, as well as consider how approaches to conducting community-based participatory research can inform progressive pedagogy in public health.

Learning Objectives:

"At the conclusion of the session, the participant (learner) in this session will be able to:
• Describe different approaches to teaching activism in public health
• Explain the importance about being explicit about approaches to progressive pedagogy
• Articulate how approaches used to conduct community-based participatory research can inform teaching activism in the classroom
