In 2000, the California School Boards Association entered into a partnership with California Project LEAN to educate school board members on the critical link between academic achievement, nutrition, and health with the intent of effecting policy development. The resulting campaign included a healthy food policy resource guide, trainings, advertisements and professional articles for school board members. The campaign and policy outcomes will be described.
