The HRSA Study of Health Education Credentialing is intended to assess the impact of health education certification as seen through the eyes of major stakeholders. Phase 3 of the HRSA Study is intended to fill a critical gap in information on a major stakeholder, employers of health education. The study used a random sample drawn from a variety of health education data-bases. Included in the analysis was a comparison to Department of Labor employer data, providing a clearer picture of where health educators are employed.

Learning Objectives:

• 1. Describe the purpose and status of efforts to assess the impact of health education credentialing.
• 2. Explain where health educators are employed based on data reported by professional health educators versus employers.
