Innovations in International Maternal Care and Program Evaluation
This session will provide examples of effective models of intervention, including obstetric fistula, multicultural approaches to genital cutting, and midwifery, as well as important new approaches to program assessment and evaluation.
Learning Objectives: 1. List the major causes of maternal mortality and morbidity 2. Identify strategies for effective interventions incorporating best practices in maternal care 3. Describe issues in developing valid, reliable and feasible program evaluation tools 4. Apply innovations in care and evaluation to women’s health program development
