Ethics and Human Rights: Public Health in Action - Domestically and Abroad
This special session addresses the importance of human rights and ethics as the fundamental anchor for public health. The panel reviews the challenges of putting these core values into practice both domestically and internationally. A range of issues including education, practice, research and infusion into programs as operating values are discussed and highlighted.
Learning Objectives: At the completion of the session, the participant will be able to: 1. Identify the importance of human rights and ethics in public health; 2. Describe the challenges and advantages of putting these core values into practice both domestically and internationally; and, 3. Discuss applications for public health education, practice, research and advocacy.
