OUR GLOBAL IMPACT ON PUBLIC HEALTH
We continue to distinguish ourselves through our ability to design and execute diverse, customized client solutions that integrate health-care, technology, and project management expertise. A few examples of our impact on the global health-care community include:
• Minimizing disease and injury to health-care workers by researching the incidence of paramedics' exposure to HIV, hepatitis, and other blood-borne infections
• Contributing to the cure of blood-borne cancer by managing scientific peer review for congressionally-funded cancer research programs worth more than $300 million annually
• Preventing the spread of SARS and other infectious diseases across our nation's borders by providing public health specialists to monitor and medically evaluate passengers arriving at airports and seaports nationwide
• Mitigating the risk of bioterrorism attacks by registering and inspecting clinical laboratories nationwide that may possess and transport anthrax, smallpox, and other dangerous biological agents and pathogens
• Helping the Foundation for the National Institutes of Health execute a Grand Challenges in Global Health Program by managing scientific peer review for more than $200 million in biomedical research grants annually
• Preventing the spread of HIV/AIDS in Africa by launching and managing the Ethiopia HIV/AIDS Resource Center, the country's first public source of HIV/AIDS information, and by providing this third-world country with enabling technology
• Reducing youth violence by implementing and managing a White House-sponsored nationwide program to educate the public about violence committed against and by youth
