When the Florida Department of Health came to the assistance of citizens impacted by Hurricane Charley, they took with them PDAs equipped with GPS receivers and programmed by GeoAge to collect Household Health Assessment data. Within days, thousands of records had been collected, transmitted and mapped, using GeoAge's GIS applications.
Lives may have been saved, but at minimum, people who needed public health assistance received it more quickly than ever.
