LSUHSC School of Public Health offers the MPH degree in five concentrations: Biostatistics, Environmental & Occupational Health, Epidemiology, Health Policy & Systems Management, and Behavioral & Community Health. Its academic, research and service programs are featured at: http://publichealth.lsuhsc.edu/.

The School of Public Health's numerous continuing education, outreach and service programs are all dedicated to improving the health of the public. Examples of these programs include the Delta AIDS Education and Training Center, which provides clinical professionals specialty training in treatment of HIV/AIDS patients in three states. The Ryan White funded HIV/AIDS Program, conducts statewide surveillance and prevention activities and administers multiple services for the affected population. The Homeland Defense Program educates hundreds of police and fire personnel, EMS and other health care professionals in emergency preparedness, statewide. The Juvenile Justice Program provides a broad continuum of medical, dental, and mental health care to youth in all Louisiana secure juvenile correctional facilities. The Louisiana Rural Health Access Program is committed to improve health care access for indigent and uninsured rural people. The Louisiana Tumor Registry is an NCI-designated SEER statewide population-based cancer registry. The Telemedicine Program involves multiple spoke and hub sites throughout Louisiana serving both clinical and health education goals. The Cancer Information, Detection and Control Initiatives include the NCI Cancer Information Service, the National Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program, and Comprehensive Cancer Control Planning Program. The LSU Health Care Effectiveness Research Program focuses on five disease areas of asthma, cancer screening, congestive heart failure, diabetes and HIV. The LSU Medical Informatics Program participates in multiple clinical information system initiatives supporting and impacting the quality and timeliness of care for patients seen in the State public hospital system, the LSU Juvenile Justice Program and community clinics serving the under/uninsured in the New Orleans metropolitan area.
