Health and Child Survival Fellows Program prepares junior and mid-career health professionals for international careers through practice-oriented assignments with the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) or other similar agencies. USAID assignments can be in overseas field missions or in the United States. All other assignments are overseas. The focus of assignments are varied and include infectious diseases, maternal and child health, nutrition, HIV-AIDS, and health systems. Candidates for specific positions are drawn from a pool of applicants and must have these qualifications: at least a master’s degree in a health-related field, a commitment to a career in international health, and U.S. citizenship.
