Community benefit today: Health care system perspective

Texas Health Resources is a 13-hospital health care system in north Texas. This presentation will address system-wide and local efforts to create and improve population health in this region. During the past dozen years of her 25-plus years in public health, Ms. Wilcox has focused her work on issues of how health can be created and community health can be improved. She has worked with numerous hospitals and communities in the areas of community health status improvement, community benefit, and community health mobilization. She has developed community health assessment tools, customized training, and unique planning processes. These experiences, as well as her current responsibilities, inform her perspective on large health care systems and community benefits.
