The Futures Initiative at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has been an agency wide planning effort designed to strengthen the agency and prepare for the public health challenges of the future. CDC focused on the key areas of: health systems, public health research, customers, partners and channels, global health, and communication. CDC also examined how the agency should be structured to support new strategic directions and overarching goals, and how our key processes should change.
