The California Family Health Council has managed the Wellness Peer Provider Program for the past eight years. The Program is funded by the California Wellness Foundation. The Wellness Peer Provider Program is an outreach and service delivery model in which young Peer Providers (CHW's) provide individual and group outreach to teens and adolescent staff provide reproductive health services to their peers. The program is unique in the level of responsibility carried out by the Peer Providers in planning and providing services to their peers. This presentation will focus on successful strategies for working in a teen clinic; challenges of confidentiality and boundary issues in working as a Peer Provider; the crucial need of support from staff and program supervisor; and the future of youth as CHW's as it relates to this service delivery model. This presentation will be co-presented by three youth CHW's who currently work for Valley Community Clinic in North Hollywood, CA.
