A new vision for integrating the environment and health services delivery to address health disparities, using the Green Design Charrette as a planning tool for an integrative approach to environmental health will be discussed from the viewpoint of increasing access to sustainable primary care services for vulnerable populations in the District of Columbia.

The green design charrette is a methodology bringing together architects, engineers, health care providers, community members, and public health agency personnel to create a model health care facility in which health and the environment are linked to address health disparities.
