The purpose of this session is to showcase outstanding work regarding to maternal and child health submitted by students in related fields. The session covers a broad range of topics within the field of MCH. This annual session was initiated by the Maternal and Child Health Section to promote academic contributions and achievement in maternal and child health among graduate students. Learning Objectives: At the end of the session the participant will be able to: 1. Evaluate unmet needs and satisfaction with care by CSHCN through analysis of the 2001 National Survey of Children with Special Health Care Needs. 2. Assess changing relationships of socio-demographic factors of LBW between the two generations of African-American and white women. 3. Discuss the disparities between age and racial/ethnic groups in pregnancy-associated death. 4. Know how to apply two screening measures for postpartum depression. 5. Describe the intercorreltation between SOFT, Attachment Theory, and breastfeeding success. | |||
