Environmental Justice and Community-Based Public Health
"Public Health and the Environment", reflects the profound impact environmental factors have on the health of the communities in which we live. The role of community-based public health in resolving issues regarding air quality, water quality, the food we eat, and how we can protect and preserve the environment, will be examined.
Learning Objectives: The participants in this session will be able to: 1) Describe the impact of environmental justice issues in several settings 2) Recognize roles and participation of different partners in ameliorating environmental injustices 3) Articulate the process of conducting CBPR research and education on Environmental Justice Issues
