Health Impacts of War in the Middle East
The purpose of this session is to provide participants with information about the public health impacts of current wars in the Middle East, including health impacts on sensitive and other high risk populations such as children, other civilians, and soldiers. The presentations will provide a basis for a dialogue to explore what actions public health professionals can take to mitigate and prevent the adverse outcomes of these wars.
Learning Objectives: At the end of this session participants will: Recognize the relationship between war in the Middle East and public health; Identify who and how population health is impacted by war in the Middle East; Identify prevention measures.
