The Prognosis for Poor Birth Outcomes: What Makes the Difference?
In this session, programs that assess and address risk factors to a healthy pregnancy, including outside contaminants in the neighborhood and internal risks such as substance use, will be discussed. Ways of measuring risk and the use of clinical partnership teams to alleviate risk will also be highlighted.
Learning Objectives: At the conclusion of the session. the attendee will be able to: 1.Describe the general patterns of women's perceived risk of adverse pregnancy outcomes. 2. Gain an understanding of pre-pregnancy maternal health status as a risk factor for premature and low lbirth weight infants 3. Identify individual and environmental(neighborhood)determinants of low birth weight births 4. Identify the components of successful partnership teams
